You have styled some very exciting ladies including Kelly Osbourne, Gwyneth Paltrow and Camilla Alves. What is it like working with these leading style setters?

I’m lucky to work with clients that are unique in their own way and have their own sense of style. It’s always a team effort on what they like and what I think will photograph well.

Kelly Osbourne has amazing style and is so daring. How long have you been working with her? How do you think her style has evolved?

I’ve been working with her for about 8 months now. We collaborate.  She loves to take risks and always has great ideas. She definitely pushes me out of my comfort zone and I love that. I feel like her style has evolved into more of an elevated, clean, chic look but still maintains that Kelly Osbourne twist she is known for.

Has there ever been an outfit that surprised you in terms of being either well or not-so-well received?

Yes! I always say: if it scares you it’s probably worth it. We were nervous about how the white Badgley Mischka was going to look at the Oscars but it was one of my favorite red carpet moments!

When you approach a big red carpet moment with a client, how do you start? For example, is it a mood, a color, or the dress?

It depends on the client. I’m a very visual person so I always have a vision in mind of what I want the client to look like on the carpet. We start reaching out to designers and looking at runway collections and go from there.

What do you find most rewarding about dressing your clients for the red carpet and events?

Seeing the finished product on the carpet is definitely the most rewarding. When hair, makeup and styling all come together for that major red carpet moment!

On top of styling all these ladies, you have fabulous personal style – How would you describe it?

I would describe my style as effortlessly chic. I love simple staple pieces but mix in some fun trends as well. I spend so much time thinking about dressing other people that when it comes to myself its so hard – I am just brain dead ha!

It is interesting that you started working for C&C California.  How did that experience help you grow into styling?

I interned for C&C in the marketing department and then got offered a job. After that I took another PR position at Hale Bob and got to style a shoot. I just fell in love with it, quit PR, and went for it!

You are certainly not in Kansas anymore. Do you go back and visit? What do your friends and family in your hometown think about your career?

I was born in Kansas and have a lot of family still there but I actually grew up in Arizona. Both places are super small towns and a lot of people don’t leave. I think people are proud of me that I left and didn’t come back. They all are so supportive of my success.

Any dream clients besides your current ones?

There are so many people I would love to dress!!! I like girls who love fashion and like to take risks.

What do you think is the one item that every woman should have in her closet?

I can’t choose just one!! I feel like a few staples are: black pump, skinny jean, white t-shirt, black blazer.

Did you get to meet Matthew McConaughey?  Haha – just kidding on this one!

Ha! Yes and he’s so lovely!
